A man was arrested after opening fire at a state rest stop and a Pilot truck stop in Iowa on Thursday.
The suspect, whose name has not yet been released, first opened fire at the Interstate 80 rest stop near mile marker 267 in Lime City, Iowa. The suspect then got into a black Volkswagen sedan and traveled west on Interstate 80, to the Pilot Travel Center in Atalissa, where he once again opened fire at motorists and truckers.
By the time troopers arrived, the suspect had already left the scene. They caught up with the suspect on County Road X46, where he engaged in a shoot-out with police.
Officers were able to subdue the suspect and take him into custody after a brief standoff.
Miraculously, no one was struck by gunfire and no injuries have been reported.
A motive for the shooting has not been released. The incident remains under investigation.
