A truck driver was shot at while driving through Memphis, Tennessee, early Wednesday morning. It happened around midnight on Interstate 240 near Getwell Road.

According to police reports, Sheila Schuyler was behind the wheel, with her husband asleep in the truck’s sleeper berth, when a white Chevy Camaro pulled up beside her rig and opened fire.

“My husband was in the sleeper sleeping and he heard the noise, and he jumped up and wanted to know what was going on,” she explained. “I said, ‘I’ve been shot!”

Schuyler says she then pulled over and examined her rig and found at least one bullet hole.

“I didn’t know what to think,” Schuyler said. “I thought it sounded like someone’s tire had blown or something. Then I saw this car, and this guy had his arm out and outside the window. Then all of a sudden, my windshield breaks. Oh no, I’ve been shot.”

Local police are unsure of the motive, and are currently investigating the incident as a possible road rage shooting. A description of the shooter has not been released, but officials say the Camaro was modified and had an “extremely loud exhaust system.”

FedEx has released the following comment about the incident: “We are aware of the incident on I-240 and are grateful that no one was seriously injured. We are cooperating with law enforcement as they conduct an investigation.”
