Several motorists witnessed a FedEx driver swerving on a local road in Tampa, Florida, on Tuesday afternoon.
While many drivers pulled over in order to get out of harms way, one driver decided to take things into his own hands and check on the driver.
In the YouTube video, which can be seen above, Tampa-resident Jonathan Simkins pulls up to the truck and shouts at the driver, who appeared to be sleeping.
According to NBC4i, after the video cuts off, Simkins gets the FedEx vehicle to pull over and convinces the driver to hand over his keys.
Hillsborough County deputies eventually arrived and said they believe the FedEx driver was impaired, but because the keys were not in the truck’s ignition they could not make an arrest.
“Fortunately, we had some good citizens that were in the area and number one didn’t get hurt and number two were able to take steps to get this guy stopped before he did hurt somebody,” said officer said Larry McKinnon.
FedEx is cooperating with the investigation.
