A 20-year-old man was killed after jumping in front of a semi truck on a Tennessee highway on Monday morning.

The incident occurred on Highway 79 near the Highway 218 intersection, southwest of Paris, Tennessee.

According to local paper, The Post-Intelligencer, 53-year-old truck driver Phillip M. Harden was traveling northbound when 20-year-old Christopher D. Owen climbed over a guardrail and jumped in front of the moving semi truck.

Troopers discovered a suicide note inside Owen’s wallet.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol also conducted a level 1 inspection of the semi truck at the scene of the incident.
