Starke, FL residents were in for a shocking sight yesterday afternoon when they spotted a naked woman in the passenger seat of a log truck in broad daylight. Just miles later, this all came to end in a manner just as shocking.
The out of control log truck smashed into a school bus at full speed on US 301 near State Road 200 in Lawtey around 2:30 p.m . The school bus driver was stopped, with stop signs extended, lights flashing, just as the truck was speeding erratically towards the crowded school bus. The impact thankfully does not critically injure any of the children on the bus.
Police were on the scene and witnessed the collision. FHP and the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office happened to be already responding to the numerous calls about the out of control truck. They were quickly unloading the children and providing first aid immediately after the terrible crash.
All of those injured were taken to UF Health in Gainesville including the two people in the truck who did have critical injuries at the time. The woman was given a towel by emergency workers to cover her bare body . “None of the injuries are deemed life-threatening”, Sgt. Bryan said. The accident did require the shut down of the southbound traffic on 301.
