Three Mexican citizens were arrested in Kansas after transporting 1,000 pounds of liquid methamphetamine in a semi truck’s fuel tank.

Authorities were tipped off about the illegal load by a confidential informant. Agents waited for the truck at its destination at a business in Kansas City, Kansas.

When the truck arrived at the Kansas City business, all three men were arrested. They were identified as 30-year-olds Heraclio Estrella-Montero and Yoan Castillo-Zamora and 40-year-old Fernando Chavez-Rodriquez.

According to court documents, Estrella-Montero and Castillo-Zamora had been living in Kansas City for about six months. Chavez-Rodriquez was living in Mexico.

The liquid meth was pumped out of the truck’s fuel tank in 5-gallon buckets. It took 29 buckets to extract all the drugs, the Kansas City Star reported.

All three men were charged with one count of possession with intent to distribute meth. If found guilty, they face at least 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10 million dollars.
