On Tuesday, a truck driver from Fargo, North Dakota, was found guilty in city court and ordered to pay a fine for parking his tractor trailer in his own driveway.
According to Valley News Live, a municipal court judge determined that truck driver John Wagner violated a city ordinance, which prohibits vehicles over 5 tons from traveling on city streets not designated as a truck route.
The law reads:
“No truck or commercial vehicle exceeding five tons register gross weight shall be operated in the city of Fargo except upon truck routes.”
Wagner’s lawyer argued that many pickup trucks, weighing above the 5-ton limit, drive and park on the residential road without repercussions.
His arguments were unsuccessful, as Wagner was found guilty and ordered to pay the $100 fine. He has 30 days to appeal the decision.
