Swift Transportation recently honored their CEO and founder, Jerry Moyes, and announced a year-long celebration to mark their 50th year in business.

On January 28th, 200 members of Swift’s management team gathered at the Phoenix Convention Center to celebrate the occasion. Several prominent figures, including Senator John McCain and NFL Hall of Famer Steve Young congratulated the company on their success.

According to a company press release, Senator John McCain announced that an American Flag would be flown over the U.S. Capital Building in Washington to honor Moyes and Swift Transportation.

“I’m proud to say that we have nearly 18,000 employees who believe that working hard and constantly proving we deserve our customers’ trust will allow us to achieve any goals we put in place,” said Moyes.

The year-long celebration includes custom designs for some of the company’s truck and trailers. One of the designs features an American flag and the number ’66, which is the year the company was founded (1966).

“Although we have only reserved the new graphics for a few thousand of our more than 18,000 trucks, Swift Drivers currently cover more than one and a half billion miles of roadway each year, so there’s a pretty good chance you’ll see one on your travels.” said Swift’s COO Richard Stocking.

Swift Transportation is the 6th largest trucking carrier in America and reported revenue of $4.23 billion in 2015.
