
Interstate 91 southbound near Middletown, Connecticut, was closed on Saturday afternoon due to a multi-vehicle pileup.
According to the Connecticut State Police, at least 20 cars, 3 tractor trailers, and a tanker were involved. No serious injuries were reported. The crash was reported around noon.
As of 6:00 p.m. CSP reported the highway was still closed between exit 21 to 25 for cleanup.
The Connecticut State Police posted the following images of the scene.
“If you must travel tonight reduce speed and wear your seatbelt,” CSP wrote on Facebook.
Update (6:01 p.m.):
The highway has just reopened. Officials have warned driver to “expect heavy delays and reduce speed.”
