Interstate 80 in Nebraska has been shut down due to multiple accidents and poor road conditions.

As of 3:00 p.m. (CST) a 50-mile stretch of westbound I-80 remains closed from from Lincoln, Nebraska to Waco, Nebraska. The eastbound lanes were closed from York to Seward earlier in the day but have since reopened.

An image taken by motorist Jill Kruger Brown at mile marker 363 shows multiple rigs in the highway median. Officials are reporting white out conditions with near-zero visibility, and are warning drivers to stay off the roads if possible.

Update (6:21 p.m.): All lanes have reopened for traffic.
