Traffic is at a complete standstill on Interstate 70 in Colorado due a jackknifed semi truck and whiteout conditions.
The footage above was taken just east of mile marker 304. It was shared on Facebook by meteorologist Reed Timmer.
Colorado DOT posted the following warning on their interactive road condition map:
ROAD CLOSED
70 E
I-70 Eastbound east of Bennett (Milemarker 306)
The road is closed, due to a jackknifed semi. Use Exit 305 to Strasburg. No estimated time of reopening. Incident began April 16th, 2016 at 10:32am.
Vehicle traction laws are in effect for all motorists on the rest of Interstate 70. Cars and passenger vehicles are required to have snow tires; semi trucks are required to use tire chains.
