
A truck driver was killed on Wednesday morning after a collision between two tractor trailers.
It happened on Interstate 65 North in Millersville, Tennessee, around 4:30 a.m.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, one tractor trailer rear-ended another around mile marker 101. The impact caused one of the trucks to catch fire. A passing truck driver tried to pull the driver out of the burning cab but was unable to get him out.
The driver who was trapped inside, died at the scene. The second truck driver made it out alive, however the extent of any injuries is not currently known. Police have not released the identity of the drivers involved.

The southbound lanes were closed after the crash, but have since reopened. The northbound lanes remain closed.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol has advised drivers to detour at Hwy 31W.

TDOT says the surface of the northbound lanes needs to be repaved before reopening. It was expected to reopen at 2 p.m., but has been pushed back to 7 p.m.
