Interstate 45 in Houston, Texas, will be closed for four out of the next six weekends, in order for a bridge to be repaired.
The West Dallas Bridge, located in Downtown Houston, will be demolished and reconstructed during the shut down. The bridge is in need of repairs because it was struck by a truck carrying large construction equipment on September 2nd.
The highway will be closed in both directions between Interstate 10 and US 59. It will begin on Friday evening at 9 p.m. and will last until Monday morning at 5 a.m., just in time for the morning work commute.
The first closure will happen this weekend, November 4-7. The next closure will be on November 18-21, followed by December 2-5 and December 9-12.
