A Cessna 310 plane crash landed on the I-405 Freeway just outside the John Wayne airport in Santa Ana, California on Friday morning.
It happened near MacArthur Boulevard at approximately 9:30 a.m. on the southbound side of I-405.
According to the LA Times, the six-seat plane was approaching John Wayne airport for a landing when it went down due to “unknown circumstances.” The plane burst into flames on impact.

There were two passengers on board the aircraft, said airport spokeswoman Deanne Thompson. Both were taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.
No injuries have been reported from the ground.
Crews sprayed foam over I-405 to control the blaze. As of 11 a.m., northbound traffic was flowing, but the southbound side remained closed with traffic backed up for miles.
The California Highway patrol has estimated a reopening for the southbound lanes around 4 p.m. local time.
CHP estimates at least 4 hours to re- open I-405. Need to get plane off the freeway and clean up the scene. All SB lanes closed.
