A tour bus collided with a tractor-trailer in Palm Springs, California on Sunday morning, resulting in at least 13 deaths.

The crash happened on the westbound lanes of Interstate 10, near the Indian Canyon exit, around 5 a.m.

As a result, all westbound lanes of I-10 are closed at Indian Canyon.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the tour bus rear-ended the tractor-trailer, crushing the front of the bus.  More than 50 people were on the bus, and approximately thirty were taken to the hospital.  So far, 13 have been reported dead.

The Desert Sun reported that the bus was owned by Los Angeles-based USA Holiday Inc., and was being driven by one of the company’s owners. The bus was traveling from Red Earth Casino back to Los Angeles when the accident occurred.
