A man who stole a truck and trailer from a business in Montana was busted after getting stuck in the snow less than a mile away.

The truck was stolen from Pacific Steel on 145 Sugar Ave. in Billings, Montana, on Tuesday.

According to the Billings Gazette, a manager from Pacific Steel called Yellowstone County police soon after noticing the tractor trailer was missing from the lot.

While searching for the missing semi truck, police received a call about a suspicious person nearby.

Police searched the area and found a man that matched the caller’s description, standing outside the stolen semi truck, which was stuck in a snow bank on Hannon Road, less than a mile from Steel mill.

Deputies were able to conclude that the man had left the truck by matching the footprints in the snow to the shoes he was wearing.

The suspect was identified as 49-year-old Wayne Henry Furman. He was charged with one count of felony theft. The arrest also caused him to violate his parole from a previous arrest. His bond was set at $20,000.

The truck and trailer, valued at $220,000, was returned to Pacific Steel and was not damaged.
