The wife of Hollywood actor Robert Carradine claims he intentionally drove into a semi truck last year in an attempt to kill her and himself.

The incident happened in March 2015, when Robert Carradine veered into oncoming traffic and struck a tractor-trailer on a Colorado highway.

Carradine and his wife suffered minor injuries and the truck driver was not injured in the wreck. The crash was initially reported as an accident, with Robert having to pay a fine of $169.50 for a careless driving citation.

However, new divorce documents obtained by TMZ reveal that estranged-wife Edith Carradine claims that Robert “confessed to me and our two children that he deliberately drove into the truck to kill us both.”

She added that Robert was an  “experienced professional race car driver” and that the crash was 100% intentional.

During the recent divorce proceedings, Robert admitted to being in a “psychotic state” during the 2015 crash, but blamed it on his wife because she “cut off” his bipolar medication in the weeks before the crash.

Robert Carradine is best known for starring in 1984’s Revenge of the Nerds.  His most recent box office success was a supporting role in Django Unchained.

The couple’s divorce case is still ongoing.
