Two high school students used a bowling ball to help free a truck driver that was trapped in his rig after overturning on an icy highway.
Sumner-Fredericksburg High School students Will Hambly and Allison Cappiello were traveling on a highway in Tripoli, Iowa, on Tuesday afternoon when they came across the overturned semi truck.
The driver of the truck was trapped inside the cab and shouting for help. That’s when Will Hambly, of Sumner, Iowa, went into his car and retrieved a bowling ball, which was used to shatter the truck’s windshield and free the driver.
The driver, whose identity was not released, survived with non-life-threatening injuries.
According to local news station KWWL.com, slick road conditions caused the semi to overturn and roll into the ditch.
