This morning in Galesburg, Illinois, two tractor trailers were involved in a collision. The incident occurred in the area of I-74 westbound at mile marker 48.

According to The Register Mail, the crash was caused by a combination of foggy weather and a truck driver driving too fast for such hazardous conditions. Traffic was diverted for emergency and clean-up crews to handle the scene.

The Westbound lanes have since reopened.

One of the semi-truck drivers received a citation for driving too fast for conditions. The extent of the drivers’ injuries were not released.
