If you drive a truck for a living, you probably know the hassle of finding available parking spots. Well, MnDot picked up on the issue and has developed a new program to help drivers do just that.

Cameras actively monitor participating truck stops for available parking spots, then relays the information on highway signs, through in cab messaging, and on it’s website in real time.

The program is currently being tested in three rest stops along I-94: Elm Creek Rest Area (mile post 215), the Enfield Rest Area (mile post 187), and Big Spunk Lake Rest Area (mile post 151.7).

Should the program prove to be a success, they’ll expand it to other areas in the state.
