One waste hauler noticed an increase in homeless families while on his daily route. He then takes upon himself to do something about it.
Arnold Harvey and his wife Theresa travel all around Silver Spring, Maryland, in the early hours of the morning delivering what they call “love bags”. These hefty bags of love contain food, toiletries and some blankets. The creation of God’s Connection Transition or GCT was the outcome of their work on the streets, a non-profit organization that supplies for over 5,000 families.
You can tell how passionate Arnold is as he chokes while saying, “As long as I know there’s somebody out there it’s hard to go home, sit at a table and eat a meal.” A truly compassionate man with a heroic goal that could use some more spreading.
