Devastation hit the city of Memphis, Tenn, when a local garbage truck driver was struck and killed by a train near Rozelle street and Kerr avenue.
The towns people claim that the driver, 57-year-old James Davis, was more than just their garbage man, he was there friend. They say the community won’t be the same without him.
27-year-old Cornelius Otis, the employee on the back of the truck, managed to jump off before the train hit the their truck. He was taken to the hospital but suffered no life-threatening injuries.
One woman, Kimberly Logan, was completely shocked to hear that something like this happened to the two men she was having a conversation with shortly before.
She recalled how Davis would often tease her for bringing out her garbage late. ““Very nice guy. He’s always like, ‘Hurry up with your trash.’ He’s always a timely person. He has to go, so that’s a little bit of what we know about him.”
The cause of the accident is currently unknown but investigators are underway in figuring it out.
