St. James, Louisiana — A 5 foot alligator occupied the Golden Grove truck stop in St. James, Louisiana after 10 inches of rain fell and flooded the area.
The flooding caused a nearby canal to overflow, allowing this gator to roam the parking lot.
The footage was taken by Bill Capo and posted on Youtube. He told news reporters that he made sure to keep his distance from the gator, saying he didn’t know if the gator was hungry.
Employees of the truck stop said that small gators in the canal are typical, but the flooding turned this canal gator into a real life parking lot lizard.
