If you get a call from a Knight Transportation recruiter asking for money, you may be the target of a scam.
An individual going by the name of Larry Davis has been soliciting prospective drivers and requesting several hundred dollar to be placed with a trainer.
Knight Transportation has said that they do not employ this individual, nor do they require upfront payment for their training.
The Commercial Vehicle Training Associated says that several drivers have fallen for the scam already. The CVT received this information from the American Trucking Associations and a police report has been filed.
Scams like these have been going on for a many years, however keep in mind that legitimate recruiters do not normally ask for money directly from drivers. If there is a charge, it’s usually taken out of future paychecks.
