A man who was convicted on DUI charges and attempted theft back in March, was at it again just a few weeks later. This time the crime was bigger and bolder.
Edward William Ford III was intoxicated when he stole a semi truck that was parked near a home in Uintah County, Utah. The truck’s owner heard the truck start and rushed outside to see what the commotion was.
The owner of the truck tried to block the man from leaving, but was forced to leap out the way when Ford attempted to run him over with his own rig.
The intoxicated thief then took police on a wild chase through town, but was caught after he crashed into a tree and attempted to flee on foot.
According to KSL, when officers asked him if the vehicle was stolen, he replied “probably.” A blood alcohol test was taken and it was determined that he was more than four times over the legal limit, at 0.335 BAC.
Ford was arrested and will be sentenced on May 26th.
