A drunk driver smashed into a semi truck in Central Point, Oregon, on Saturday evening, killing her 6-year-old passenger.
Deputies say 27-year-old Necia Marie Hanson drifted into oncoming traffic and into the path of a semi truck, while driving under the influence. The truck driver tried to dodge the car by swerving into a fence, but was unable to avoid the collision.
According to KDRV News, there were three children in the car. A six-year-old girl, who died at the scene of the crash, and two children under the age of 5. The surviving children were taken to a hospital with minor injuries and released the following day.
The truck driver was not hurt.
Police have not stated if Hanson was the mother of the children, or a caretaker. She was charged with driving under the influence and manslaughter.
