Major mudslides have closed a stretch of Interstate 80 in Truckee, California, near Donner Lake. The mudslides occurred shortly after 6 p.m. (PST) on Sunday evening.

Drivers are currently stuck on the highway in Truckee, with no detour or estimated re-opening time according to the California Highway Patrol.

At 6:40 PM (PST), CHP announced that the westbound lanes of I-80 in Truckee were closed.

An hour later, the highway was closed in both directions due to worsening conditions and downed power lines.
