A veteran trucker has been honored for multiple decades of safe driving in the state of Alaska.

The Alaska Trucking Association has named Lynden Transport Driver Jack Sorensen the 2018 Alaska Truck Driver of the Year. Sorenson is the third Lynden driver to receive this award since 2014.

The annual competition is located in Anchorage Alaska.

Sorenson has a successful history in not only this competition, but day to day driving as well. Despite the many challenges that accompany trucking in Alaska, Sorenson has maintained an accident-free driving record for the past 34 years.

lyndenSorrenson has attended the national truck driving competition seven times and has many first-place finishes under his belt.

This competition includes a written test, a pre-trip inspection and a skills course.

Lynden Transport President Paul Grimaldi raves about the overall reliability of his drivers.

“We are extremely proud of the professionalism and commitment our drivers exhibit every day on the job, but also the knowledge and skills they bring to the annual ATA truck driving championships,” says Grimaldi. “These drivers are the best of the best.”
