Dozens of truck drivers came together this week honor a fellow driver, who died from a crash in late January.

The semi truck convoy drove down Highway 20 in Sweet Home, Oregon, on Friday, to pay respects to resident Neil Nightingale.

Nightingale died after a January 21st crash on Highway 20, when a vehicle left its lane of travel and swerved into oncoming traffic, crashing head-first into his 2011 Kenworth logging truck.

Nightingale’s Kenworth truck, driven by a close friend, led the convoy. Many drivers also draped their rigs in red and black, the same colors as Nightingale’s truck.

Several local logging businesses also shut down early for the day, in order to pay their respect.

“I can not believe the outpouring of generosity that has been shown to the family through this whole thing. Guys that have come in their trucks, that have come to support him, that don’t even know him. They are here just solely in support as a fellow truck driver,” said driver Cory Wilson.
