Dozens of Jeep owners scoured the Mountain Creek Parkway in Dallas, Texas on Monday, looking for stranded motorists after freezing weather caused wet roads to become icy.
One of the men, Jason Gardner, told WFAA-TV: “The highway was shut down. There’s no wreckers here to help out. We got a bunch of guys together and we freed the highway. That’s a pretty good accomplishment.”
In addition to rescuing commuter vehicles, the jeep owners, which were part of the Chisolm Trail Jeep Club, linked five jeeps together to pull out several stranded semi trucks.
The club posted the following video on Facebook, showing one of their rescues in action.
After several news outlets picked up the story, another member, Nora Cortez, told reporters “We wanted to get together and do some good for some people this morning and we have Jeeps that are really good to do it.”
Thanks to these good Samaritans, several drivers were able to get on their way after being trapped on the icy roads. It’s proof that there really are some good people still out there.
