A man is in critical condition after he set fire to three semi trucks on Tuesday.

According to Action News Jax, it happened just before 8:30 a.m. at a local trucking company in the 1900 block of Dahlia Road in Jacksonville, Florida.

The company owner, David Peppers, explained that the arsonist was a former employee. Peppers said that after he had let the employee go two years ago, the man became homeless. But the company owner gave him a place to stay, food to eat, and even helped him with disability forms.

But the former employee became disgruntled and told Peppers that he was going to “light his business up.” Although Peppers believed it to be a joke, it turned out that the man wasn’t kidding. The former employee brought oxygen tanks over to the semi trucks then lit them on fire.

Smoke from the fire clouded the air.
