A group of truckers recently drove through Pennsylvania to help grant the wishes of sick children.
Over the past five years, the local Make-A-Wish Foundation has hosted a fundraising parade with big rigs leading the way. Last year’s event harnessed 90 semi trucks, but this year they did even better. 112 big rigs participated in the beloved charity event that drove through U.S. 30 in Franklin County, Pennsylvania .
The foundation was founded in 1980 when a 7-year-old boy with cancer was honored as a police officer for the day.
The revenue from the weekend’s event will be used to fulfill other wishes for sick children.
From super modern trucks to antique and vintage rigs, the convoy of trucks was a sight to behold.
By 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, the lineup of big rigs left the Twin Bridges Show Grounds. According to Public Opinion, they ventured from “Twin Bridge Road to U.S. 30 east, through Chambersburg to Pa. 997, to U.S. 11 south back through Chambersburg to U.S. 30 west, and returning to the showgrounds via Crottlestown Road.”
Happy onlookers waved at the caravan as it drove by, while truckers and residents exchanged greetings.
