Two people from Sterling Heights, Michigan, are in critical condition after driving into the back of a semi truck.
The incident occurred on Mound Road, north of 14 Mile Road, when a 27-year-old woman from Warren was driving her silver Nissan in the center lane and crashed in the back of the semi that was waiting at a stop light.
The 27-year-old woman and her 30-year-old male companion were taken to the hospital in critical condition. The semi driver was not injured.
Southbound Mound Road was closed during police investigation and reopened around 6:30 a.m.. Police say alcohol appears to be a factor of the accident.
