Michigan State Troopers are investigating a collision that occurred when a woman lost control of her vehicle.
The incident occurred on Tuesday at around 7:30 a.m. on eastbound I-94 near mile marker 54 in Lawrence Township.
The driver told police officers that she veered out of her lane when she was blinded by the sun.
The woman then hit a semi truck that was headed in the same direction. The impact from that collision sent her crashing into a guardrail on the right side of the highway.
Her vehicle then careened back onto the roadway and collided with the truck a second time. The semi truck lost control and wound up in a ditch.
The damage was extensive.
According to Mlive, the woman was taken to a hospital to treat serious injuries. She is expected to recover. The truck driver was uninjured.
Both vehicles were towed from the crash site.
