One truck driver has been arrested in connection with the 64-vehicle pileup that shut down the I-80 on Monday.

45-year-old Alex Dragaytsev, a driver from Quebec, Canada, was arrested and charged with aggravated vehicular homicide. According to CBC News he was driving a rented semi and rear-ended another tractor trailer, leading to the massive pileup that led to 2 deaths, and left over 25 others injured.

Wyoming Highway patrolman, Lt. Michael Simmons, says that Dragaytsev may have been driving too fast for conditions.

A tanker that was hauling hazardous materials was set ablaze during the pileup and hampered the rescue and clean up efforts. This was the second time in 5 days the I-80 was shut down due to a large pileup.

Update: ABC News has reported that the vehicular manslaughter charges against Dragaytsev have been dropped. He has instead been cited for failure to use caution for hazardous conditions and fined $60 dollars.
