The driver of a Camaro who passed a pickup truck on the shoulder and then knocked a big rig off the road earlier this year has been indicted thanks to the help of a witness’s dash cam recording.
According to investigators, the driver of the Camaro, 32-year-old Kiran Thapa, had a blood alcohol content of .19, more than twice the legal limit, and was even drinking in his car at the time of the crash.
The entire incident was captured on dash cam video by salesman Tim Linton, who purchased the dash cam just days prior. He called it “the best $40” he ever spent.
The raw footage can be seen below.
Linton pulled over and called 911 after witnessing the crash.
According to ABC-7, Thapa was charged with six counts of second reckless endangerment, felony aggravated unlicensed operation, aggravated DWI.
