A car hauler caught fire in Gwinnett County, Georgia on Saturday afternoon, shutting down a portion of the highway.

It happened around 3:30 p.m. on southbound I-85, just north of Hamilton Mill Road.

The fire spread from the truck to the wooded area off the side of the road, causing a large brush fire. As a result, the Georgia Department of Transportation shut down the highway at exit 126 and urged drivers to take alternate routes.

Facebook user Victor Fuentes captured this video of the scene.

AJC.com reported “miles of congestion” and heavy delays on Interstate 85 south.

As of 5 p.m. firefighters were still battling the blaze but reported that the brush fires were 75% contained.

The cause of the fire is not currently known. No injuries were reported.
