A semi truck crashed into a Turnpike Authority building next to a toll booth on the Cimarron Turnpike Wednesday night.
The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. on eastbound U.S. 412 near the SH-99 exit in Pawnee County in northern Oklahoma.
According to News on 6, Oklahoma Turnpike Authority workers had left the building, used as a break room, only minutes before the truck crashed into it.
The trailer hit an office with soda machines, restrooms, and storage for employees.
The collision caused a power outage to the toll booths, shutting down its toll-collecting operations.
The truck driver told officers that his brakes failed when his approached the gate. The driver did not hit the bride overhead, and no one was in the building at the time. Neither the employees nor the driver was hurt in the accident.
The highway was narrowed down to one lane while crews worked to clear the scene.
Engineers are working to assess and repair damage.
