A large snowstorm swept through Colorado on Wednesday morning, causing countless crashes and shutting down several major highways.

The most significant shutdown is a 160 mile closure of Interstate 70, between Aurora and the Colorado/Kansas state line (Mile marker 292 to 448).

In addition to I-70 closures, Colorado DOT also announced the following:

I-25 closed in both directions from Wellington to the Wyoming border (Milemarker 276-298) at 6:46 a.m.

US 6 Clear Creek Canyon closed from Golden to CO 119 due to accidents and rockslide reported at 7:34 a.m.

US 24 is closed in both directions from Colorado Springs – Limon (Milemarker 321-376) due to adverse conditions at 10:41 a.m.

US 40 closed in both directions from Kit Carson to Limon (Milemarker 387-445) due to adverse conditions at 10:22 a.m.

CO 14 closed in both directions at Sterling (Milemarker 232-260) to due adverse weather conditions at 9:46 a.m.

US 287 closed in both directions, Ted’s Place – Wyoming state line (Milemarker 356-385) at 6:32am.

US 85 closed in both directions from Ault to Wyoming (Milemarker 279-309) due to adverse conditions at 8:08 a.m.

CO 86 closed in both directions Elizabeth – I-70 (Milemarker 15-59) due to adverse conditions at 10:35 a.m.

All CMV must chain up on I-25 in both directions at Monument Hill (Milemarker 160-174)

The Colorado State Patrol asked drivers to stay off the road is possible, and tweeted that emergency vehicles are also stuck in the storm.
