
A semi truck crash and fire stalled traffic on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel (CBBT) in Virginia on Wednesday morning.
Shortly before 2 a.m. on February 19, the Virginia Beach Fire Department (VBFD) was dispatched for a commercial vehicle fire reported on the northbound CBBT.
When crews arrived, they discovered a truck and refrigerated trailer loaded with frozen chicken fully engulfed in flames.
Firefighters were able to knock down the blaze with assistance from other units, but the truck and trailer were destroyed in the fire.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the truck crash and fire is under investigation, FBFD says.
