We recently took to our community of over 20,000 CDL licensed drivers and asked the question that many often wonder:
“What large trucking companies have you had the best experience with?”
None of the companies on this list have paid to be here (we don’t roll like that). These are strictly the answers and top voted responses on LiveTrucking.com’s Facebook page.
We’re sure there are many others that deserve to be on this list (we plan on asking again in the future), and we’re also confident that company’s on this list have their fair share of complaints as well.
Our goal is to to bring straight forward and transparent answers to those who may be in search for this information.
(Note: For companies that were simply voted on with no commentary, we searched reputable websites for employee reviews.)
With out further adieu, here are the best companies for new truckers as voted on by drivers in our community.
Swift Transportation
“I’ve been with Swift for approximately nine years. I have no complaints. My empty miles stay around 5%. Where some of the smaller ones can travel across several states to get their next load. I rarely sit. I usually have a second load already stacked if not two” Tim H. [Facebook – LiveTrucking.com]
Cardinal Logistics
I came back to them in 08 as a company driver, I was a lease operator and an owner operator from 03 to 05. Then ran under my own authority from 05 to 08. They keep me busy up here in NH. They have a lot of different accounts to work for. [Truckers Report Forum]
UPS Freight
Great paying job, great benefits. If you can get in there, just show up to work when your supposed to..and they will be your last stop before you retire. [Truckers Report Forum]
JB Hunt
I had excellent pay and benefits with JB Hunt. -Robert D. [Facebook – LiveTrucking.com]
FedEx Freight
It doesn’t get any better. Was there for 13 years. Open door policy. Good equipment and benefits. [Indeed.com Employee Review]
If you’re a new driver, and on the fence about which company to work for, hopefully this list will help. We plan on asking our growing community the same(or similar) questions in the near future, so stay tuned for updates.
