A Michigan highway was shut down for several hours due to a large pileup caused by slippery roads and whiteout conditions.
The pileup occurred near mile marker 17 on southbound US-131, around 1 p.m.
According to WZZM, the road was blasted with an inch of lake-effect snow.
Firefighters believe more than 80 vehicles were involved in the slippery highway wreck.
The highway was reopened around 6 p.m. There were several reported injuries, however none are believed to be serious.
