More than one million dollars were stolen from an armored truck for Bank of America shipping by the men transporting the shipment.

The two men are 28-year-old Aldo Esquivel Vega of Pomona, and 37-year-old Aldo Esquivel Vega of Fontana who were hired by Loomis on June 27th.

The men were supposed to transport a multimillion-dollar shipment of cash for Bank of America to an overnight storage facility, but broke from their route to make an unscheduled stop at a restaurant they’d often eat lunch at.

It was at the parking lot of this restaurant where they stashed the money in a garbage can which laid out in the open. At a later time, their accomplice, 39-year-old Jovita Medina Guzman of San Bernardino, would take the money and hide it.

The 3 men were arrested and await to be arraigned in U.S. District Court. If convicted, they face 15-25 years in federal prison. $85,000 was recovered in Yanez’s residence but one million is still missing.
