A terrifying dash cam video was released today, showing the moment an officer was struck by a semi truck in Ohio.
The incident occurred in Eaton, Ohio, on January 8th.
According to Kiro7.com, Captain Brad Moore was directing traffic near a railroad crossing after a minor traffic collision, when a semi truck got stuck on the tracks while following the officer’s directions.
Moore then ordered the truck to steer right, and drive around the railroad crossing’s safety arms. As the truck was driving over the tracks it was struck by an oncoming train. The impact sent the semi crashing into the officer.
Miraculously, Captain Moore survived with only a broken hand and a gash across his forehead. “I’m very fortunate” he said.
Moore expects to return to work for light duty next week, and back to normal duty in three to five weeks.
