A semi truck was caught on Amtrak tracks in Wilmington, Illinois, when an oncoming train smashed into the rig on Friday afternoon.

Upon impact, the trailer and the cab separated, with the trailer ending on the opposite side of the tracks. The trailer was split open, spilling tens of thousands of pounds of bacon everywhere.

The train was on its way to Chicago from San Antonio, Texas. The Herald-News has reported that 10 passengers were injured in the collision.

Passenger Sam Herwitz told NBC Chicago, “No one knew exactly what we were supposed to do. We didn’t really know if we’d hit something or we had just done a brake-check kind of thing,”

Although his rig was completely destroyed, several sources have reported that the truck driver was able to walk away from the accident.
