On Friday morning in New Jersey, two semi trucks collided, creating an unusual scene on the busy highway.
The trucks collided on Interstate 287’s southbound lanes in Piscataway just before 6 a.m.
Onlookers witnessed the peculiar spectacle of what NBC New York is calling a “sandwich-like spill.”
One semi truck hauling deli meat, and the other carrying bread crashed, littering the roadway with lunchtime ingredients.
As seen in the video, the trailer of one of the trucks was clearly destroyed, and its contents were strewn across the highway.
The incident caused significant traffic backups for several miles as only one of the highway’s southbound lanes was open.
By about 7:30 a.m., most of the debris had been cleared from the road.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the accident is being investigated.
