
Traffic was backed up for hours when a motorist fell asleep and collided with a semi truck on Interstate 90 this morning.
It happened on Tuesday around 6 a.m. on the I-90 between exits 26 and 25 A in Schenectady County, New York.
According to News10.com, a 39-year-old man from Pennsylvania was driving a car eastbound on I-90 when he fell asleep behind the wheel. After falling asleep he veered off road, hit a guardrail, traveled back into traffic and ran into a tractor trailer, head-on.

The driver was airlifted with serious injuries but is expected to recover. The truck driver sustained minor injuries.
The collision caused major traffic delays during the morning commute. All eastbound and westbound lanes on I-90 near the collision were closed while emergency crews attended the scene. The lanes have since reopened.
