MINNEAPOLIS (6/4/2014) — The truck driver that passed a school bus as it was picking up a student recently turned himself in to authorities.
The school bus was stopped on Highway 23 to pick up a student when a semi truck passed between them on the right shoulder. The incident was recorded by the dash cam that was equipped on the bus.
Although not seen on tape, the driver of the bus Mike Egerman, says he had his stop arm out and there was already another vehicle stopped behind him.
The video went viral on the internet, getting shared thousands of times on Facebook and amassing over a hundred thousand views on YouTube. Several days after the video hit the net, the driver turned himself.
The most important part however, although a close call, was that no one was injured.
