Watford City, North Dakota (5/27/2014) — A viscous tornado touched down near the oil fields in Watford City, North Dakota on Monday. Before heading for cover behind some equipment, oil field worker, Dan Yorgason, decided to pull out his smart phone and caught a shocking glimpse of the twister in action.
Meteoroligist estimate that the tornado consisted of 120 mph winds. The camp that was hit housed several trailers where the workers live and sleep, however they provide no protection against a monster cyclone like that one that touched down on Monday.
Workers report that there was no way to leave, as the tornado was occupying their only escape route. The only option was to wait it out. Unfortunately, a 15 year old girl lost her life and several others hurt while doing so. Everyone injured was inside of a trailer.
