A group of professional storm chasers known as the Basehunters, recently caught this dramatic footage of a supercell thunderstorm in Wyoming.
Supercells are one of the rarest formations of thunderstorm possible and often result in tornadoes. Even without the presence of tornadoes, these cloud formations can result in violent winds and rain, and massive damages.
The air beneath the clouds generally spins upwards in what is known as a mesocyclone, and can reach and maintain speeds of over 100 mile per hour for several hours.
Have you ever spotted these on the road? If so, you’re best bet is to admire their beauty for just a few moments and quickly get the heck out of there.
